It's actually used as HTML content. The only other option is splitting up the strings into separate keys and inserting the breaks in the code itself. Newlines inserted into the keys would need to be swapped for <br> in the code. This is equally problematic as that too can drift across the translations.

Only reason is that the original developer did this and it flowed through the rest of the update for translations. Certainly not opposed to having it changed to anything language appropriate or ".
